Groetjes,
Nienke

  4. Hello Nini. :)

About Carnaval, I must admit that I never really watch it, even though I find some of the floats and costumes graceful and well-crafted artworks (at least here in Brazil). I think that Samba songs made by some composers are poetical masterpieces, but the ones played during Carnaval are rarely worth anything, and I don't appreciate the Samba rythm by itself either.

In my opinion, Carnaval is nothing but a huge lie. No matter how much you'll forget about your problems during Carnaval, no matter how intense impression you'll give the rest of the World that we're happy in Latin America, you'll still wake up in a fucked up country in the next morning. What are we celebrating, anyway? The fact that the Congress deliberately votes the issues that would cause most insatisfaction during this time of the year, when people are all worried about having fun and don't care about politics? The fact that we'll have thousands of europeans and americans coming here for nothing but sexual tourism (seeking especially children)? The fact that, whatever damages that this might bring us (and here I include especially damages to the Public Treasury due to frauds by construction companies, environmental damages and the displacement of several poor families) we must build the stadiums to our so beloved World Cup? After all, we can bear the shame of being one of the countries with the most grotesque social conditions on the planet, but we can never bear the shame of showing the World we can't host the most beautiful World Cup ever. :D And soccer and Carnaval are the highest expressions of our nationalism. And, oh, you bet I love my country.

Anyway, let's leave my hatred aside for a while. :P I'm so glad that you'll be coming home soon! I really wish I could be there in the moment you step on Belgium and you and Karin meet for the first time after a whole year. ^^ That is going to be a heart-melting occasion, no doubt.

I've also made plans for when visiting your new apartment in Antwerp. :D Once I get there I'm going to team-up with Sushi-san and we're going to tackle you and lick your whole face, and then purr for you. ^^ Then I'm going to ride Sushi-san (maybe I'll have to loose a few pounds for that, but I'll worry about it later. :P) towards Tongeren, where we're going to appreciate Belgium's finest Salmon Lasagna at Karin's. ^^ After that, Sushi-san and I are going to go back to Antwerp to drown our sorrows and get wasted by drinking Kegs O' warm milk in a kittens bar. And then, when the night comes, we're going to stay under your terrace performing a serenade which we'll dedicate to you. :D This one, to be more precise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4

And when twilight comes, when you'll start to prepare to your university classes after your sleep(less) night, Sushi-san and I are going to comfortably sleep in your bed. ^^ I can hardly wait to visit you!

  5. Also, when coming back from Paraguay, don't forget to bring your huge packs of marijua... *gets interrupted by Nini's punch* Ehmm, I mean, of yerba maté, of course. 9_9

Please be careful not to get infected by Dengue, because, considering what your teachers are like, one can only wonder how paraguayan doctors are going to proceed after the diagnosis. o_o They're probably going to ask the Magic Conch Shell on how to procceed - well, we have just about the same amount of evidence to believe on it than we have to believe in the 'proof' of God's creation of the Earth and humans...none.

There's this funny episode in Sponge Bob where they ask the Magic Conch Shell (a toy that says random stuff when you pull its cord) on what to do when they get lost in the woods, and the Shell answers "Nothing." And then they just sit by without doing anything. :P And then it happens that an airplane filled with food supplies was passing by at the time and had to drop the cargo to lose weight, and so they actually get plenty food by obeying the Shell. xD

And then Squidward, who had doubted the authority of the Shell, tries to be able to eat food. And he asks the Shell like:
-Can I have something to eat? *pulls the cord*
    -No.
-Can I have something to eat? *pulls the cord*
    -No.
-Can you say anything other than that?? *pulls the cord*
    -Try asking again.
-Can I have something to eat?
    -No.

Haha!... *realizes he's the only 22 years old who still watches spongebob* Aww. T_T

Ciudad del Leste was the place in Paraguay my parents visited, and that's how I got my Super Nintendo. xD It came along with some bizarre games, like a soccer game that had english menus, brazilian teams and had a spanish announcer. xD And also they had some games that couldn't be saved. -.- I mean, even I don't have the required nerdness to beat Super Mario World without saving. <_< I used to like Nintendo a lot, but nowadays I don't like them much because they really lack innovation. |: I mean, I still like Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and stuff, but do they really need to rely so much on those titles? -.- It gets old eventually.

Anyway, I think I've talked too much already. :P I miss you, Nini! Hope you'll have a sweet week. If you need anything, count on me.

    Leandro.

  6. Hello Nini. :D

I'm sorry about flooding your blog, but I have a request for you.

I don't know if it's the same in Belgium, but here in Brazil we celebrate the Mother's Day today, May 9th.

I would like to send Karin a big hug for being a very sweet mum. ^^ I know that she periodically reads your blog so I'm hoping that she'll see this message here, but in case she misses it, would you please tell her? :3

    I miss you.

    Lots of hugs,

    Leandro.
